Panel Discussion on the Naming of Streets after Ernst Moritz Arndt
Arndt espoused a nationalist worldview and repeatedly made openly anti-Semitic remarks. Given that the naming of streets—in addition to serving as a means of orientation—always also represents an expression of political and cultural honor, the panel discussion will address the question of how the Treptow-Köpenick district should deal with this legacy in the future.
This is a joint event organized by the Commissioner for the Prevention of Anti-Semitism of the Treptow-Köpenick district, the Treptow-Köpenick Museums, the Department of Culture and Museums, the Office for Continuing Education and Culture, the Social Space-Oriented Planning Coordination, and the Treptow-Köpenick Space for Participation.
