maC Master's thesis by Felipe Fizkal
Where does the Global South begin? What postcolonial cosmologies exist there that we are unaware of?
Chilean choreographer Felipe Fizkal invites the audience into a space that, in exchange with the senses, creates a living landscape. The rhythm of cumbia, the sweat, and the cries of farmers in the fields are echoes that evoke the Global South.
In this piece, the presence of the performers becomes a seismic event that leads to a discovery of contemporary ritual expressions and subcultural practices of the Global South.
