Expert guided tour with Dr. Verena Wasmuth, curator of the glass collection, SPSG
One of the most important alchemists and glassmakers of the 17th century, Johann Kunckel, worked on Peacock Island in the middle of the Havel landscape between Potsdam and Berlin. He had received the island as a gift from Elector Friedrich Wilhelm so that he could conduct his research there unobserved.
In the five years or so he spent at this special location, he was astonishingly productive. The tour, which ends at the dairy on the east side of the island, traces Kunckel's activities.
