Martin Luther once said: "For faith is a free work, to which no one can be forced". Berlin is not a religious but an open and tolerant city. In 2017 Berlin celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with numerous events.

The Luther effect. 500 years after the Reformation

The German Historical Museum in the Martin-Gropius-Bau shows a large exhibition devoted to Luther's work and its consequences. In addition to Germany, the USA, South Korea and Tanzania are also being considered.
