Xtopias are a playful approach to transformative education. In terms of content, they stand between utopias and dystopias, because the future will be just as complex and contradictory as the present. Methodically, Xtopias combine big questions about the future with playful formats involving very specific objects and processes.
These enable you to think and feel your way into ideas about the future, in order to then weigh them up further, compare them with your own values and visions and reflect on them. The workshop is a warm invitation to all educational actors, cultural workers, team members, sponsors, activists and interested parties who want to take up future topics with Xtopias. You will get to know the approach, can try out xtopic tools yourself and get tips on how you can develop your own xtopia.
The team is looking forward to passing on the accumulated knowledge from its multi-year research project “Urban Xtopias – Open Spaces of the Future”, which was funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation.
