A Conversation with Meyad Sarsour-Ndaye
What is it about?
Participants will collectively gather words and associations related to discrimination and explore the meaning of "Islam" beyond imposed stereotypes. The core of the event is a workshop on the visual imagery surrounding Islam: we will examine various depictions, contextualize our impressions, and work together to understand how images shape reality—and how that reality can be changed.
This event is open to everyone, particularly cultural professionals and museum staff—ranging from directors and curators to administrative and security personnel. An openness to unlearning existing assumptions is more important than prior expertise.
