A cultural experience for the whole family near Karl's strawberry farm

Fairytale-like stories from Ukrainian folklore, breathtaking artistic performances - high in the air and on the ground - as well as a good pinch of humour and a lot of solidarity, that is "In the Forest of Wishes - У лісі бажань".

The enchanting acrobatics and dance show for young and old was developed by 17 Ukrainian artists together with the Berlin art ensemble VoLA StageArt under the direction of Anett Simmen and can be seen in Elstal near Berlin until the beginning of October. Part of the proceeds will go to Ukrainian aid initiatives. The project is under the patronage of Dr. Dietmar Woidke, Minister President of the State of Brandenburg. Further information about the show and tickets are available at www.vola-im-zelt.de.

Magic, elves, forest spirits

The girl Lilia takes the audience on a journey through Ukrainian stories and traditions. On her odyssey through ever-changing seasons in the Forest of Wishes, she meets the ice princess Snegurochka, a magical forest spirit, the nymph Mavka and floating elves, mysterious mythical creatures, a clever Puck and a funny journeyman who wins everyone's hearts with his clumsy stories. In the process, she learns about friendship and community - and about love. A love that is put to the test by a sinister magician.

World-class acrobatics and artistry

The show is performed by world-class artists, including Artem Lyubanevych, multiple Ukrainian national gymnastics champion, the twins Yuliia and Olha Mosiienk, also known as the Gemini Twins, who create beautiful mirror images and synchronous interweavings at dizzying heights, and Vitaly Azarin, multi-award-winning clown and founding member of the Davai Theatre in Tel Aviv, Israel. Special guest of the show is Simone Al Ani, who won first place in "Italia's got Talent" with his hypnotic juggling.

Danced solidarity

"Within the framework of this project, the fantastic Ukrainian artists can once again live a piece of normality on stage and thus stabilise their living situation. By the way, parts of the proceeds from the sale of the programmes go to associations and organisations that help refugees from Ukraine," says Anett Simmen, the director of the performance and head of VoLA StageArt. "The wonderful thing about this show is that it makes both the artists from Ukraine and the audience happy and perhaps also a little melancholy. Everyone gets something special out of it," says Dr Dietmar Woidke, Minister President of the State of Brandenburg and patron of the project.
