In 2020, the Terrys formed in Gerringong, Australia, about 100 kilometers from Sydney. The singer Jacob Finch and the guitarists Lukas Anderson and Ben Salvatori lived together in a trailer park that in turn belonged to a Terry. There they taught each other how to play jam sessions. After numerous complaints about noise and with two other members on board - Trent Cooper on bass and Cameron Cooper on drums - they asked their landlord for permission to name themselves after him.

The Terrys

Since then, the Terrys have been on the road with their irresistible mix of indie-folk songwriting, sophisticated pop melodies, skate-rock energy, a pinch of surf and Australian nonchalance.

Her motto in life, especially when it comes to music, is simply: "Don't think. Just do. And follow your heart."

Even before their first birthday, the influential radio station Triple J described the band as "your new favorite surf indie outfit".

Their first twelve-show tour along the East Coast quickly sold out. With their carefree sound, the Terrys took the charts and the hearts of their fans by storm. The band's debut EP quickly reached over 10 million streams. Her energetic performances filled venues across Australia, and her debut album True Color last October also reached high positions on the domestic charts.

The Terrys are infectious, humorous and authentic. They live their true identities and inspire their fans, the "Terrydactyls", to do the same and build a community based on music and friendship to pursue their creative impulses. This is no longer just happening in Australia: The Terrys will be coming back to Europe in the spring and will also be playing a show in Berlin on this trip.
