On the occasion of the album release of musician Roméo Poirier, a Faitiche label evening will be held at the Red Salon. Next to Roméo Poirier, Andrew Pekler will be a guest. Both work with so-called found-sound collages - sounds captured on audio and data carriers - as well as with set pieces of archived music, which are woven into referential compositions.
They represent two different approaches to audio collage:
while Andrew Pekler creates tropical-fictional audio/video landscapes into so-called "Phantom Islands," Roméo Poirier layers psychedelic sample fragments on top of each other.
The concert evening questions performative strategies of sound collage. In two solo concerts, Pekler and Poirier will each perform one possible facet live.
