by William Shakespeare

"We are such stuff as dreams are made on; and our little life is rounded by a sleep." The Globe Ensemble Berlin presents Shakespeare's late work in exciting topicality. The comedy of the visionary sorcerer Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan who has been exiled to an island, deals with change through globalization, the conflict between civilization and nature, oppression and just rule. It shows how everything is suddenly set back to the beginning by the force of nature, making room for visions as well as disillusions.

With the help of a storm, Prospero forces his adversaries around King Alonso onto this island and a battle for sovereignty and retribution breaks out. When his daughter Miranda falls in love with Alonso's son, a utopia seems possible. But how can peace come about when revenge stands in the way of repentance?

Due to the special stage situation, the spectator is surrounded by play, music and dance and the weather always plays along.
