Wagner does not see himself as a painter in the classical sense, but rather as a draftsman who pours paint on himself. In the mid-80s, in the early phase of his training in the GDR, he started pouring paint in the nude room and transforming academic nude studies into an “action painting performance”. At the same time, he is a fixture in the music landscape with his action painting punk band HERR BLUM, ROSA BETON, the techno live act FLIRREN and many other projects.
