Friedrich Hollaender (1896-1976) is considered the genius of the century of popular and at the same time intelligent chanson.

He was a Berlin jack-of-all-trades who wrote the wonderful melodies to go with the whimsical wordplay of his lyrics and worked closely with many stars of the 1920s, but also of the post-war period.

Dirk Rave, Chanson-Nette and Henry Nandzik present his oeuvre in a beautifully off-beat way, with chansons about child prodigies, princesses, night ghosts or hysterical goats. But, of course, also with evergreens like Marlene Dietrich's "Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt".

Imaginatively and sensitively, Friedrich Hollaender recorded the quiet and loud sounds of his time. He created classics that are still politically topical today. With this irresistible Berlin trio his world becomes highly alive again!
