Sound Stories: Music for Flute and Harp from Monteverdi to Chick Corea
A symphonic movement followed by an opera aria and a piece of chamber music—in centuries past, concert programs tended to be far more varied and colorful than we have become used to. Recorder virtuoso Stefan Temmingh and harpist Margret Koell revisit this tradition in a program they call Sound Stories.
Performing an eclectic mix of songs, arias, sonatas, variations, and dance movements from five centuries and on different instruments, the duo weaves an enticing tapestry of stories told through sound.
Works by Claudio Monteverdi, Giovanni Battista Fontana, Georg Friedrich Händel, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Carl Scheindienst, and Chick Corea
