Sol Gabettas is devoted primarily to chamber music. However, she is also a strong proponent of new compositions. Sol Gabetta performs on Italian master instruments from the early 18th century. Among them are a cello by Matteo Goffriller from 1730, Venice, and since 2020 the famous "Bonamy Dobree-Suggia" by Antonio Stradivarius from 1717. In 2019 she was awarded Instrumentalist of the Year. In 2018, the cellist was honored with the Herbert von Karajan Prize for her artistic achievements. The ECHO Klassik honored her performance every two years between 2007 and 2013, as well as in 2016. She has taught at the Basel Music Academy since 2005.
