nd How I Founded a Theater - An Eastern History / BOOK PREMIERE with musical support from Thomas Putensen

In 1989, the dancer Kathrin Schülein, who was trained in the GDR and worked on a permanent basis, experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent closures of numerous theaters in her old homeland. A ten-year search for a new purpose in life and a constant failure to arrive during this time always lead her back to the point that life without theater is not for her. So the prophet goes to the mountain and she opens one herself. Without knowing what that means, without any knowledge, she naively jumps into the deep, freezing and torrential waters of the new world to get her life back.

The view into the social and official immobility will be deeper than you would like. A cheerful and tragic story from the East like many others, but still a special one.

Kathrin Schülein's book premiere will be musically supported by Thomas Putensen.
