In her award-winning film, Dagmar Knöpfel tells the story of a strong and unconventional woman. The banker's daughter Auguste Bußmann marries the Romantic poet Clemens Brentano and wants to radically live the romantic ideal of love from his poems in reality. In doing so, she shocks not only the reserved poet and lover, but also her social environment.
