Annett Gröschner reads from her new novel

"Hanna had lost her second child, due soon after Johannes's birth. When the abdominal pain suddenly became unbearable, she quickly closed the shop and squeezed out a hand-sized lump of flesh on the pedestal toilet. She then scooped it out of the toilet bowl, wrapped it in a layer of flower paper in blind haste, and disposed of it in the trash, fearing the pipe might clog. Afterward, she reopened the shop and resold it. She couldn't afford a daily rate of wilted flowers."
