Only music from Paris & Co. will be heard at this year's New Year's Eve concert. Winfried Kleindopf will play some baroque Noëls, which are playful variations on popular French Christmas carols.
Excerpts from Charles Marie Widor's 5th Organ Symphony will also include his famous Toccata, one of the most legendary organ pieces of all time. Marcel Dupré's Christmas movement from the Passion Symphony is on the program, in which the late-romantic Auen organ can demonstrate its orchestral abilities - as well as in the organ arrangement of Maurice Ravel's Boléro.
Admission is free, but donations are requested to help finance the organ restoration, which has not yet been fully completed.
