Futures Thinking

Although we cannot predict the future, we can figure out how we want to live in the future. At this Open Lab evening we will show you how it works. Here you will get to know the “Futures Thinking” method. This is a combination of future research and design thinking. We'll show you how you can identify, evaluate and combine trends into desirable future scenarios.

Futures Thinking can be used in many ways. For example, to develop an idea for a start-up, to decide on the right training position or to shine in the next university seminar with new, exciting methods.

In terms of content, we will deal with the topic of democracy. The idea of democracy is more than 2,000 years old. A lot has changed since then. Today, social media and globalization influence how we live together. And in the future? In the workshop we will deal with the coordination processes of the future. Discover with us how democracy can continue!

The event is part of the “Learning to shape futures” workshop series, which takes place once a month as part of the Open Lab evening. In a total of four modules, you will learn about well-founded methods of shaping the future, which you can put together to create your individual future method kit.

WHAT IS AN OPEN LAB EVENING?

Every Thursday things get creative in the lab. You will learn about methods such as design thinking or future storytelling, you can try out 3D printers and laser cutters and look behind the scenes of the lab projects. There's something new every week.
