Open Day at the Rotes Rathaus Berlin on 21 June 2025 – Experience Democracy
On June 21, 2025, Berlin's Governing Mayor, Kai Wegner, will host the first Open Day at the Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall). From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Berliners and visitors to the city can take a look behind the scenes of political events – under the motto: "Experience Democracy."
A diverse program for the whole family awaits visitors:
In a speed dating format, employees of the Senate Chancellery will provide insights into their areas of work. Digital Berlin, the European Department, and Berlin Protocol will present themselves at interactive booths.
Highlights will be the stage talks with Kai Wegner, Martina Klement (State Secretary for Digitalization and Administrative Reform), Florian Graf (Head of the Senate Chancellery), Florian Hauer (State Secretary for Federal and European Affairs), and Georg Klußmann (Head of Protocol for the State of Berlin), who will report on their work and answer audience questions.
For the first time, the Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall) will also be part of the Fête de la Musique Berlin – with live music and top-notch entertainment in the town hall courtyards. A wide range of culinary offerings will ensure your culinary well-being, while hands-on activities for children will round out the program.
Admission is free.
Bags up to DIN A3 size are permitted; larger bags must be left at the entrance.
The event is supported by Berliner Wasserbetriebe (Berlin Waterworks) with a free water bar – please bring your own water bottles.
