Two months after the fall of the Assad regime, Catherine Estrade and Vincent Commaret accompany their Syrian friends Mohammed and Mariam on their first trip back to their homeland.

With their camera, they document neighborhoods in Damascus that have been razed to the ground. And they find signs of hope: a girls’ choir singing revolutionary songs, vegetable gardens amid the ruins. Will a peaceful life be possible here?

This question will also be discussed in a post-screening discussion with the directing team Catherine Vincent and the Berlin-based Syrian Mohammed Noor Al-Gosh.
