Completely different star cuisine at eat! 2025
The journey could hardly be shorter: instead of carting the high-quality products from the surrounding area to Berlin, Woodcuisine takes guests to star chef Nikodemus Berger in the forest. And truffle lovers can even coax secrets from the chef of the Bonvivant Cocktail Bistro that are otherwise closely guarded within the team.
The Michelin-starred restaurant will be represented at eat! 2025 with these two exciting events. ‘We love the small gourmet festival,’ says Nikodemus Berger, ’it's always a great opportunity for us to take a break from our daily routine and try something new.’
On 25 February 2025, the 30-year-old will therefore be cooking pasta with truffles together with guests in a special masterclass at Studio32 in Kreuzberg. He will be assisted by one of the city's greatest truffle experts: Massimo Ferradino from Tartufo del Re supplies the fine mushrooms to the capital's starred restaurants and is also a popular point of contact for amateur chefs with his stand in Markthalle 9. Berger and Ferradino share a love of the best flavour and the highest quality. In the brand new location of the Bonvivant Cocktail Bistro, Studio 32 Kreuzberg, there is plenty of space, a perfectly equipped kitchen and a cosy style for the dinner afterwards. ‘Cooking with truffles is not that easy,’ explains the Michelin-starred chef, ’the white truffle is a little more forgiving than the black truffle, but both deserve special attention.’
All guests are welcome to the masterclass - whether they want to join in the cooking or prefer to watch from the sidelines with a glass of wine. Three courses will be prepared to utilise the truffle in as many ways as possible. At the end of the masterclass, everyone will eat together at a long table. The event starts at 6 pm on 25 February, with the course beginning at 6.30 pm. A ticket for this unique opportunity costs 185 euros - including accompanying wine from the August Eser VDP winery.
With ‘Frost & Flame’ on Sunday, 2 March 2025, from 11 a.m., it's off into the forest. Woodcuisine specialises in conjuring up dining rooms among the leaves and trees. Here, the casual style of sustainable furniture manufacturer Woodboom combines with nature to create an incredible experience. Mischa-Amadeus Olma creates this extraordinary setting, into which Nikodemus Berger fits so perfectly, with his two sustainable companies Woodcuisine and Woodboom.
Nikodemus Berger is passionate about going into the forest to collect herbs and ingredients for his excellent vegetable cuisine. For the special eat! event, the Michelin-starred chef creates an impressive 6-course menu from root vegetables, mushrooms and everything else that regional nature has to offer in the winter months. To get in the mood, guests go on a short spring wild herb hike beforehand. Even if the fire provides some warmth for lunch, the two forest fans Berger and Olma advise guests to wear suitable outdoor clothing. ‘We are guests in the marvellous countryside,’ says Nikodemus Berger, ’but you can't expect it to unpack the warm temperatures for us in March.’ The menu costs 170 euros per person - including a wine pairing from the VDP Allendorf family vineyard in the Rheingau.
Reservations for both events can be made via Eventbrite.
