From July 13 to August 23, 2025, the hospital church in Wuhlgarten will host the exhibition “A N K L Ä N G E” featuring graphic works by Helmut Müller.


The exhibition presents an extensive series of graphic works on 20th-century composers, in which Helmut Müller combines portraits, landscapes, and biographical elements in a collage-like manner.

e dedicates a special work to the composer Gustav Mahler and his student and colleague Gerenot Richter (1926–1991). The show is complemented by additional individual sheets on the theme of music.

Helmut Müller was born in Berlin in 1953 and studied art education and German language and literature at Humboldt University in Berlin. He worked as an art teacher, first at Humboldt University and later at the Berlin University of the Arts until 2019.


Opening:


The opening will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 5 p.m. The laudatory speech will be given by Heike Drewelow.

The exhibition will open with a concert featuring Georg Schwark on the flugelhorn. He will accompany the performance with readings from Federico Fellini's film script “Orchestra Rehearsal.”

Georg Schwark was principal tuba player with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra for over three decades and is at home in a wide variety of musical genres, from klezmer and free jazz to musical theater productions. In his current program, he combines flugelhorn playing with literary interpretation and scenic design.
