BERLATIN Premiere

LATIN QUARTER invites you to the BERLATIN premiere of MOSTRO, a psychedelic trip from Mexico by Colectivo Colmena!

Poetic. Raw. Unforgettable.

Fresh off their Berlinale Generation 2026 win with SAD GIRLZ, Mexico’s Colectivo Colmena returns to the city with MOSTRO, a hallucinatory vision of youth on the margins.

Lucas and Alexandra, two teenage factory workers, escape the harshness of their industrial city through chemical-fuelled trips inside a self-built shack. Their ecstatic visions offer fleeting freedom, until Alexandra suddenly disappears before Lucas’ eyes.

As he searches for her through a corrupt and indifferent system, the hallucinations that once sustained him begin to decay, revealing the monstrous forces lurking beneath their world.

Winner of the Boccalino d’Oro at the Locarno Film Festival, with further awards at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Málaga Film Festival, MOSTRO blends raw social realism with surreal imagery in a visceral portrait of love, loss, and survival.

Screening in Spanish with English subtitles.

The Berlin premiere is part of BERLATIN Screenings, a year-round showcase of Latin American cinema presenting the region's best stories to Berlin audiences. The series is organized by LATIN QUARTER Film Distribution in partnership with Kino Babylon.
