Literatur LIVE

In the minute it takes you to read this text, around 100,000 people worldwide visit pornhub.com. Around 85 percent of all men and a good third of all women in Germany consume porn. They have long since become part of our everyday culture - and at the same time have remained a taboo subject.

Fear, shame and a lack of knowledge stand in the way of an open dialogue, whether in private or in public debate. This book wants to change that. It opens up a space where speaking and thinking about porn becomes possible. Far from scaremongering or sensationalism, but without mincing words, it answers what we do with porn, what it does to people and their place in society.

In this long overdue analysis of the present, Madita Oeming shows that a reflective and at the same time relaxed approach can succeed and what we gain when we finally talk about porn - a political and personal, an outrageous book.

Madita Oeming, born in 1986, is an independent porn researcher. She researches, teaches, lectures, discusses and publishes on the subject of pornography from a cultural studies perspective. As a sex-positive feminist and lust activist, she sees herself as a bridge builder between academia, the porn industry and the general public. Through her fearless scientific communication, she has established herself in the German media landscape as a porn expert. Your overall social educational mission: knowledge instead of stigma.
