In her exhibition “Last Season”, Friðbjörnsdóttir invokes various notions of time, creating a concrete dialogue between the cyclical time of the earth and the cosmological time of the heavens in the face of anthropocentric linear time. The consequences of the hubristic ideology of ‘universal’ time are clear: widespread pollution, ecological destruction and mass extinction; in fact, human time is running out. How can we listen with attention and respect to the cycles, processes, and deeply embedded signs that we share with nature and the cosmos once more?
