The KUYUM Dance Platform and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) invite children and families to a fun-filled day of rhythm, music, dance, and storytelling as part of the Kinderdisko 2026 at the HKW.

The festival celebrates contemporary African dance and spotlights BIPoC artists. Audiences of all ages are welcome to discover movement, creativity, and playing together.

In addition to dancing to the beats of DJ K’Boko (Brazil/Germany), visitors can enjoy creative stations featuring arts and crafts, games, and children’s books.

A special highlight of the program is the dance performance *Flip-Flop!* by Nasheeka Nedsreal (USA/Germany) and Theater o.N., which won the Berlin IKARUS Prize.

This poetic, wordless performance opens up a playful world in which clothing transforms into movement and the body becomes a space for imagination and discovery. “Flip-Flop!” invites children and families to dream together, experiment, and create their own worlds. Join us and experience a lively day full of music, movement, and shared imagination!

  • The Kids’ Disco is an open, unsupervised event; parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children.

Featuring:

  • Daphne Brunet, K’boko, Renan Manhães, Cíntia Rangel
