NoonSong - Song & Prayer

Celebrating with Italian splendour - For centuries, Vivaldi's festive and lively psalm settings lay dormant
in Dresden's archives, but now they are gradually being rediscovered. They celebrate the 700th NoonSong with a large double choir and double orchestra
performing his marvellous works. The baroque orchestra ‘Batzdorfer Hofkapelle’
is a congenial partner to the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin.

  • Tagespsalm: Psalm 70 Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741): Domine ad adjuvandum me (RV 593)
  • Wochenpsalm: Psalm 111 Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741): Beatus vir (RV 597)
  • Psalm 147 Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741): Lauda Jerusalem (RV 609)
  • Canticum: Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741):
  • Magnificat (RV 610)
  • Choral: Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958): Herr, mach uns stark im Mut

NoonSong - what's that?

Every Saturday at noon, locals, visitors to Berlin, music lovers and admirers of architecture alike attend NoonSong. It is a concert and a church service in equal measure.  Eight professional singers from the vocal ensemble sirventes berlin, led by Stefan Schuck, sing choir music. The repertoire ranges from music from the Renaissance to contemporary compositions.
