Jonathan Kreisberg is one of those top international musicians who has been enriching this club with his fantastic concerts for years. Jonathan has already visited Berlin in various formations, and this time, too, it promises to be an absolute highlight when the New Yorker presents exquisitely composed and played modern jazz with his three companions.Jonathan Kreisberg has built an outstanding reputation over a career spanning more than 30 years. He studied in Miami after taking his first steps in his teenage years; tours and concerts with Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson and others followed within a very short time.

Jonathan's musical focus turned from fusion in the late '90s to primarily acoustic jazz, where he has excelled ever since, becoming one of the most influential contemporary jazz guitarists. He recorded albums at the infamous post-bop workshop Criss-Cross, as well as in 2018 on the legendary Blue Note label. He has also played with the leading shapers of the modern New York jazz sound, such as Ari Hoenig, Joel Frahm, Larry Grenadier, Bill Stewart, as well as legends like Dr. Lonnie Smith and Lee Konitz. But his reputation goes beyond his reputation as a gifted bop player and also identifies him as a fantastic composer. Jonathan's compositions combine the best qualities from 100 years of jazz traditions: Melodies of cool lightness yet emotional depth, smart harmonic twists and infectious rhythms.Marko Churnchetz (Slovenian spelling Črnčec) is one of Slovenia's best-known contemporary musicians and renowned exports, living in New York City. He is known on the international scene as an outstanding young multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and producer who easily crosses genres, especially jazz, classical and pop music.

Churnchetz has already released five albums as a leader. His third critically acclaimed album, Devotion (Whirlwind Recordings, 2014), featuring Mark Shim (saxophone), Chris Tordini (double bass), and Justin Brown (drums), was named one of the top 20 jazz releases of 2014 by All About Jazz!

Phil Donkin tours regularly with top international artists. Phil's latest work as a leader is "Value" (2019 NWog Records). It follows his earlier release "The Gate" (2015 Whirlwind Recordings). When Phil is not leading his own bands, he can be seen and heard touring with artists such as Oliver Steidle, Tom Challenger, Philipp Gropper, Frank Möbus, Kalle Kalima, Jim Black, Wanja Slavin, Johannes Enders and Bastian Stein. Phil has toured throughout Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. In recent years Phil has also played with John Abercrombie, Marc Copland, Ralph Alessi, Joey Baron, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Chris Speed, Dan Weiss, Ethan Iverson and Bill Stewart.

Colin Stranahan is an American drummer. Born in Denver, the son of a jazz educator, he was considered a child prodigy from an early age and recorded his first album at 17. He studied at several of the most prestigious jazz institutes in the States until he enrolled at the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, where he graduated. In 2012, he placed second in the Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, arguably the most prestigious jazz competition in the world. In New York, he played with the best of the best: Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Fred Hersch, Terence Blanchard, Kurt Rosenwinkel and many more. In addition to his stage and study work, he also teaches around the world, including in Arhus and at London's Royal Academy of Music.
