As Part of the Cultural Summer

The summer party in the museum garden once again invites you to discover, feast and swing!

In keeping with the current exhibition about Jewish designers of of Modernism, there is plenty of scope for creativity: making dolls, building an ark or baking challah. In short guided tours through the they introduce exciting women who have stood their ground in their artistic professions against all odds.

During the summer festival, admission to the exhibition Defiance: Jewish Women and Design in the Modern Era is free!

On stage, Die Damen und Herren Daffke bring the musical melting pot of the of the 1920s, balancing on the interface between political song, operetta kitsch and movie hits.

Young visitors can get involved in activities offered by the Makkabi e.V. sports club. There will also be children's face painting, street food, giant soap bubbles, bouncy horses and  a large garden to relax, play and discover. In addition, the children's world ANOHA is open and the FREUNDE DES JMB invite you to get to know them.

The Band

Four voices and a piano, that's Die Damen und Herren Daffke. They tell stories about life – sometimes loudly, sometimes quietly, always with heart blood and sometimes with a drop of rum. Since the ensemble was founded in summer 2014, Friederike Kühl (vocals), Franziska Hiller (vocals), Dennis Kuhfeld (vocals), Markus Paul (vocals) and Ilan Bendahan Bitton (piano) have been hauntingly interpreting the songs of Jewish and ostracized composers.
