A special exhibition of the Museum of Decorative Arts

One of the first women in fashion history, Parisian Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946) began her career as a milliner in 1889. In addition to her hat creations, she designed dresses for her daughter Marguerite with an unusual freedom of movement in the style of short hanging dresses, and from 1909 she added a women's line.

Her designs contrasted with the classic modern collections of younger contemporaries, such as Coco Chanel, but were no less successful.By the 1920s, the company had become a fashion empire, which was further expanded by her successors after her death. The exhibition illuminates the fashion development of the Lanvin company up to the present day.

The presentation is accompanied by a cooperation with a Berlin fashion school.
