Jamila Al-Yousef, who named the band after her Palestinian grandmother, was born in Berlin on the day the Berlin Wall fell.
Having absorbed the revolutionary energy of that time practically with her mother’s milk and deeply shaped by the life story of her father, who was expelled from Palestine, she composes songs about liberation, self-empowerment, and healing together with her musical heroes.
Jamila’s emancipatory message in Arabic and English is carried by powerful live musicians:
Let yourself be swept away by the unmistakable sound of psychedelic guitar riffs, carried by warm, earthy bass lines, Arabic percussion rhythms, and energetic drum beats.
Since our stage is exposed to varying weather conditions and not all seats remain in the shade throughout the entire performance, we kindly ask you to provide sun and rain protection for yourself and your children.
We look forward to your visit!
