All in a Garden Green – The JAM Youth Early Music Ensemble invites you on a musical journey to Renaissance England.
Under the artistic direction of Katharina Bäuml and Hille Wippermann, they engage intensively with the music of the Renaissance and early Baroque. In doing so, the ensemble combines historical interpretations with an unusual openness in its instrumentation: alongside historical instruments, modern instruments are also used.
‘All in a Garden Green’ – A journey through the Golden Age of English music
The JAM takes the audience on a musical journey to Renaissance England – a time when courtly art and popular music, artful polyphony and exuberant dance were closely intertwined. ‘All in a Garden Green’, a popular English melody from the late 16th century, was incorporated into many compositions of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
