Art, Theft, and Restitution
The workshop offers insights into projects and approaches at the intersection of historical-political and cultural education that highlight the continuities of exclusion before and after the Nazi era and actively engage against antisemitism and racism.
From the field, 7xjung—the learning center of Gesicht Zeigen!—will present its work. They have also invited Désirée Galert, an education specialist in the areas of anti-Semitism prevention with a focus on combating discrimination, multi-perspective Holocaust education, and an expert in addressing emotions related to these topics. Methods will be presented, and participants will reflect together on how the approaches introduced can be further developed and adapted for their own educational work.
In a joint initial discussion, they will consider how provenance research could enrich these topics and how these fields of work could also be helpful for teaching about provenance.
