An Evocation of Spirits by Heiner Frauendorf (composition) and Julia Marx (libretto)
"Look at me!" - To be seen, to be looked at, to be noticed is the most valuable commodity in our society, which is characterised by the struggle for attention. But what happens when the attention of "ordinary" people is no longer enough?
Music theatre for adults
The two protagonists rely on a musical conjuring of spirits to bring a V.I.P. from the beyond to them. A grotesque competition for his favour ensues. In the midst of all the falsehoods and superficialities, the ghost actually has only one wish: to really get to know someone. If only this were not so difficult...
Inspired by Gottfried Keller's novella "Kleider machen Leute" (Clothes make the man) and its setting by Alexander von Zemlinsky, the three players and singers, accompanied by the sounds of the marimba, enter the realm of perfectly polished surfaces, the messages of clothes, and the jamming of the clothing.
messages from clothes and sticking doors. The questions remain: Who do we all want to please again and why?
