Exhibition at Felleshus I Nordic Embassies in Berlin
The exhibition Parallel Dimensions II focuses on artists from Iceland who push and overcome the boundaries of art, technology and science. Since the beginning of the 20th century, technology, programming and new media have found their way into artistic works.
Science and technological progress have long been part of the work and environment of artists who engage with them in different ways. Through rationalism, science and new aesthetics, modern technology in art challenges perception and understanding of the world in which people live and develops a new vision.
The topics that the artists in this exhibition deal with are diverse, but they all try to shed light on other worlds and dimensions or ask new questions.
The exhibition presents works by Ragnar Kjartansson, Elín Hansdóttir, Gunnhildur Hauksdóttir, Kolbeinn Hugi Höskuldsson, María Dalberg, Sigurður Guðjónsson, Anna Diljá Sigurðardóttir, Halldór Eldjárn, Úlfur Hansson, Valdís Steinars, FÓLK Reykjavík, Jón Helgi Hólmgeirsson, Ólína Rögnudóttir, Stúdíó Flétta, Tinna Gunnarsdóttir, Theodora Alfreðsdóttir, Calmus Waves, Kjartan Ólafsson
