A DT Jung\* Production
A production of the Junge DT from the Swedish by Katharina Erben in a play version by Katharina Bill and Christiane Lehmann.
You think you are very beautiful? Moderately beautiful? Rarely beautiful, but when you do, really beautiful? Just butt-ugly? Do ideals of beauty block you or are you indifferent to them? The word fuckability makes you sick and yet you notice how it determines part of your thinking? The time is ripe: let's critically question body privileges and crash representation conventions.
In her latest graphic novel, feminist comic artist and political scientist Liv Strömquist poses the question of the perception of beauty and how it has changed in recent years.
"In the Hall of Mirrors" is a funny, very precisely researched examination of the beauty discourse between Marilyn Monroe and Instagram. The fat * director and performer Katharina Bill (she/her) brings the wayward visual and linguistic wit of the graphic novel to the stage together with young people.
* fat = as empowering self-designation
