What does the *Secret History of the Mongols*, the great narrative about Genghis Khan, contain? The legend tells of the boy Temüjin, who rose from the Mongolian steppe to become the most powerful ruler of the medieval world. But which stories are missing? Whose perspectives and voices are not represented?

In the special exhibition ‘Genghis Khan and the World of the Mongols’, you’ll set out in search of clues. Archaeological artefacts tell of destruction, survival on the steppe, and the exchange of goods and ideas within an empire that stretched from the China Sea to the Black Sea.

Afterwards, you’ll become a storyteller yourself: you’ll develop your own ‘secret story’ and bring it to life in a short stop-motion film using the Wunderbox, a creative tool that combines analogue materials with digital techniques.
