Beautiful long spoons – The rabbit in art

This documentary explores the history of the hare in art – from antiquity, through Dürer’s famous ‘Field Hares’, to contemporary art. It focuses on the question of why the hare embodies such a wide range of characteristics and emotions.

Among other places, the film takes viewers to the Albertina in Vienna, the Louvre and the studios of various artists.

This will be followed by a discussion with the Berlin-based painter and illustrator Michael Sowa. Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase prints by the artist and have them signed.

The event is taking place as part of the exhibition ‘Of Animals and Other People’.
