How can we rethink the coexistence of plants, animals, people and fungi? In “Eutopia,” the audience gathers in small groups around a large game board and negotiates – step by step – fundamental questions of coexistence.
Every evening, possible worlds and stories emerge in which the human and the non-human are interwoven. In doing so, they put the models of biology, ecology and anthropology to the test. A game evening of constant transformation, a reflection on the influence of one's own decisions and a theater experience for all the senses.
In their long-standing, award-winning collaboration, Cristina Galbiati and Ilija Luginbühl have created immersive installations in which the audience encounters core questions of human existence in poetic worlds. In their latest production, they involve the audience even more consistently and let them decide where the evening leads.
»Eutopia« is a participatory performance: the audience is divided into several groups and sits on low stools around a large game board. During the performance, the audience is asked several times to draw game pieces and place them on the game board according to given rules.
Conversations and discussions between the audience are part of the performance. Participation is not possible without participation, but the audience decides on the intensity of participation.
