A musical journey through Europe

Maria Lettberg is a Swedish citizen, was born in Riga and lives in Berlin. Apart from her concert performances, her recordings are dedicated to the rediscovery of Russian and Scandinavian music in particular, which she believes deserves a place in the current repertoire.

With her current CD (Zara Levina, The Piano Concertos) she was nominated for the Grammy 2018 in the category "Best Classical Instrumental Solo". In her concerts, Maria Lettberg draws on a broad repertoire, the focal points of which are Brahms, Schumann, Liszt, Chopin, but also Ravel and Debussy, Schnittke and Bach.

In combination with fresh inspirations, she weaves virtuoso and musically subtle programmes. Sometimes her concerts also have an experimental character, as for example in her "Mysterium" project, with which she approached the synaesthetic ideas of Alexander Scriabin.
