App launch and start of the Citizen Science project "Your Emotional City!"

Cities trigger emotions in people - pleasant and unpleasant ones. On the one hand, they offer opportunities for development, a lot of exciting jobs and a diverse cultural landscape. They are political, economic and scientific centers. But they also have another side, they are often anonymous or dirty, there is injustice, crime and violence in them. Cities stimulate, and they demand . Sometimes they cause stress. Sometimes they even make you sick. But they also fascinate. All this has an impact on our psyche and health.

The citizen science project "Your emotional city!" aims to find out what feelings citizens associate with specific streets, squares, neighborhoods and parks. From the collected results of this "emotional map", insights can be gained for cities in general. Together, they will find out what makes cities of the future places worth living in.

For the kick-off, ideas are presented and people are invited to help shape the research. Prominent support has been brought in for this: Doctor and cabaret artist Dr. Eckart von Hirschhausen will be there, for example. Guests can look forward to an evening of exciting talks, impulses and lots of interaction. Come along on an emotional journey through Berlin!

The event is part of the Citizen Science project "Emotional City" - a joint project of Interdisziplinäres Forum Neurourbanistik e.V., Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Futurium - Haus der Zukünfte.
