A subversive, tragicomic romantic comedy set in Tehran, a city strictly controlled by the morality police: Mahin, a 70-year-old woman living alone, flouts all the rules and spends a carefree evening in her apartment with the shy taxi driver Faramarz. This film, which is as funny as it is touching—and which premiered and won awards in the competition at the 2024 Berlinale—will be screened in the Ulme35 garden.

A pre-screening discussion with lead actress, writer, and activist Lili Farhadpour will take place at 8:30 p.m. in the lecture hall in German and Farsi. The discussion will focus on this extraordinary film, the situation in Iran, and, in particular, the status of women.
