The Day of the Dead “El Día de los Muertos” is celebrated primarily in Mexico and many other countries in Latin America and combines old traditions with modern influences.
The CUMBIA FEST celebrates Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead. On this day all come together to honor their deceased with joy and respect and to celebrate their memory. This event is the culmination of a whole week of wonderful Mexican Day of the Dead activities at the Wood Market. It combines ancient traditions with contemporary culture and creates an inspiring encounter that builds a bridge between life and death.
The Cumbia Fest represents the sound culture of Latin America in Berlin and creates a space in which musical traditions merge with the rhythms of urban life. In Mexico, music accompanies people in all situations, even in moments of farewell to loved ones. Live bands and DJs promise a pulsating night full of dance, joy and passion, where the music works magic and leaves a carpet of sound that transcends the ordinary. This evening the small hall is transformed into a colorful room in which time seems to stand still.
