Festival der Vielfalt

This year marks the 16th anniversary of the CrossKultur festival in Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Once again, numerous cultural institutions, associations and advice centres are taking part to show how diversity is actively lived and what makes a diverse society.

The festival programme includes not only musical, culinary and artistic highlights but also current issues such as strengthening democracy and social cohesion.

Until 15 December, you can attend numerous concerts and exhibitions, try out various workshops ranging from Arabic calligraphy to Javanese gamelan and papercut portraits, and experience a wide range of discussion and exchange formats.

Opening

On Friday, 15 November at 6 p.m., Jörn Oltmann, district mayor of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, will open the festival in the Willy-Brandt-Saal of the Schöneberg town hall.
The evening will focus on the journalist Vanessa Vu and the writer Ahmad Katlesh. Together they will present their book ‘Komm dahin, wo es still ist’ (Come to where it is quiet). It is a personal exchange about the traces and memories of war and asylum, language and flight. The moderator of the evening is the writer and journalist Lin Hierse.

After the reading and the discussion, Vanessa Vu and Ahmad Katlesh invite you to a short tango workshop. With live music by Elke Schrepel (piano), Roberto Sannino (violin) and Alexander Riedmüller (clarinet).
