A provocative examination of post-COVID / ME/CFS
In “Crash,” the Pacing Company publicly dissects the long-term consequences of COVID on the theater stage. Affected by an illness that is difficult to grasp, those affected by post-COVID fall out of their lives and become barely visible voids in a loud and performance-oriented society.
Based on the experiences of those affected, the piece reveals, layer by layer, the astonishing scientific and political intricacies of this seemingly new disease.
In a mixture of absurd laboratory and anatomical theater, two performers and a musician turn the medical perspective around: They use theatrical methods to look at doctors, scientists and their strange practices.
Through acting, sound and movement, they connect with the marginalized ancestors of those affected, challenge male specialist medicine and overwhelm the health system.
