Two-day workshop. Accompanying program for the exhibition “Inventing Queer Cinema”

Movies shape memories. In this workshop, participants use their experiences with film as a starting point for their own stories, comics, and illustrations.

They’ll delve into their memories, develop characters, and invent new worlds. A well-known film story can be transformed into a personal, queer retelling. They can alter scenes, add fantastical elements, or completely reimagine a story—there are no limits to creativity.

Over the course of two days, comic artist Patu and author and dramaturg To Doan will provide inspiration, exercises, and practical tips on writing and drawing. Step by step, participants will develop their own stories and turn them into a small booklet or zine.
