In 1665, leaflets and newspapers reported a bizarre event: fishermen observed an air battle near Stralsund. The “UFO 1665” exhibition deals with this sighting, which subsequently also became a media event.

At this Nah Dran! evening, Prof. Dr. Moritz Wullen, curator of the exhibition, takes you on an expedition into a world of images hidden in old books. Anyone who only knows the art of the 17th century from picture galleries will be surprised by this baroque parallel universe with strange signs in the sky, airships, space rockets and flying disks. Individual book objects are presented and leafed open without a display case - so you are very close to the action.

The event accompanies the exhibition "UFO 1665. The Battle of Stralsund", which can be seen in the art library until August 27th. More info
