Christian August's abstract worlds of color shine and bubble, are diffuse, organic and alternate between loud and quiet, rough and smooth on the picture surface and appear ethereal. It is his second solo exhibition "Not Without My Doubts" at galerieburster berlin.

While his earlier pictorial compositions quickly appear weightless, without an above and below, Time and space, evoking associations with an idealized vision of the universe, August is back on earth in his latest color landscapes. Or rather, an intermediate world that also has something dystopian about it in its impressive color intensity and spectrum.
Christian August (*1977 in Halle (Saale), Germany) studied at the Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy in Halle under Gerhard Schwarz. August has been an urban artist under his pseudonym KID CASH since the 1990s. He is the founder and member of the artist group KLUB7, founded in 1998. In 2017 he received a scholarship from the Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation. August lives and works in Berlin.
