With "The Billy Joel Songbook" Elio Pace and his great band celebrate the legendary US musician with a unique mixture of pop, rhythm and blues, jazz and rock 'n' roll. The audience can look forward to an immersive musical journey with more than 30 fantastic songs by Billy Joel - including hits like "The Longest Time", "She's Always A Woman", "An Innocent Man", "Uptown Girl", "Tell Her About It, The River Of Dreams, We Didn't Start The Fire, and Piano Man.
But not only the visitors of the shows can be happy, Elio is also happy to be able to stand on the stage: "Billy Joel's music is timeless. He is a genius composer and in my humble opinion the greatest singer/songwriter of all time. I am truly touched and humbled that so many people want to see and hear us play his music. I can't wait to go on tour again and finally come to Germany."
As a singer/songwriter, pianist, producer and arranger, Elio has performed with a variety of stars including Brian May, Huey Lewis, Glen Campbell, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Lulu, Mike Rutherford, Don McLean, Tom Chaplin, Debbie Reynolds and Martha Reeves, to name just a few.
The late British radio presenter Sir Terry Wogan was also a huge fan, describing Elio as "simply sensational". In 2010, Elio Pace was the musical director of Wogan's hugely popular BBC Radio 2 program Weekend Wogan, appearing as the lead artist on all 35 programs that year Huey Lewis agrees: "Elio is amazing...I'm a huge fan" and Queen's Brian May puts it like this: "Elio rocks". All of them - as well as audiences around the world - are enthusiastic about his soulful voice and his extraordinary piano playing.
In 2013 and 2014, Elio Pace had a very special treat: he was invited to follow in Billy Joel's footsteps and perform at five reunion concerts in the US with Joel's original touring band from 1971-72. Following the huge success of these shows, Elio embarked on The Billy Joel Songbook's debut tour which has sold out theaters across the UK.
In 2019, Elio's sensational concert film The Billy Joel Songbook Live won Best Overall Long Form Music Video at the 17th Annual Independent Music Awards in New York City.
